The Nixa City Council approved the 2025 real‑property tax levy on Aug. 26, adopting an ordinance that sets the rate at 0.2886 for the 2025 tax year, city officials said.
City Clerk Rebecca Coffey told the council that the notice of levy hearing initially showed a higher rate but that an updated calculation from the state auditor produced the 0.2886 figure. “After we got the pro forma from the auditor, the tax rate was lower. So the new rate is 0.2886,” Coffey said. She added staff would deliver the final certification to the county clerk before the Aug. 30 deadline.
Council members voted to adopt the ordinance in the second reading; the council closed the public hearing with no speakers and approved the measure by roll call.
The council did not attach changes or conditions to the levy at the meeting.
