Santee City Council paused its agenda on Aug. 27 to present certificates of recognition to nearly 70 youth entrepreneurs who took part in the Momentum Tutoring Santee Youth Business Fair. The event, now in its second or third year, brought 70 youth entrepreneurs and 58 businesses to Santee Lakes on Aug. 16, organizers said.
Terry (Momentum Tutoring) thanked the council and families and highlighted participants’ creativity, volunteerism and effort; council members congratulated winners and encouraged parents and community members to support the program. Awards and recognitions were distributed to named youth booths and volunteers — examples included Hive and Hugh (Amelia), Tie Dye Duo (Maddie and Mallory), Hannah’s Glitter Tattoos and many others — and the council invited families to take photos and celebrate the students’ achievements.
Council praised the event as a youth entrepreneurship and leadership opportunity and thanked Momentum Tutoring volunteers for organizing the fair.
