Committee to pick date for volunteer ivy removal at Northside Park after site review

Following a committee site visit, members reported Aug. 20 that Northside Park could host a short volunteer event focused on ivy removal and tree trimming. "There are probably a good 15 trees in all actuality that that could use a trim," Committee member Deb said, noting two trees farther down a trail toward the river that will require more effort to access.
Deb said she photographed problem trees and that much of the work is accessible near trail edges, making it suitable for a short volunteer event once temperatures moderate. Committee members recalled deferring earlier because of heat and asked everyone to review their schedules so the committee can select an event date in September and publicize it.
No formal decision was taken at the Aug. 20 meeting; committee members agreed to revisit the item in September with proposed dates.
