Volunteers sought for fall petunia pull and tulip planting; committee flags Clover Park soil and slope issues

Committee members asked for a designated lead for festival booth staffing and agreed to confirm volunteers for September 2 as an alternative weeding date because Sept. 2 is the first day of school and may work better for some volunteers.
Members discussed landscaping priorities: Clover Park needs more soil and plantings to address slope and drainage issues and to reduce dangerous work areas for volunteers, and Highway 228 may be better served by perennials or shrubs rather than seasonal petunias. Patty has four benches available to place around town; the committee discussed locating one near Fourth and Oak Terrace and checking on the Alice Groveland Memorial bench plan with staff.
The committee also discussed tree-watering bags and noted a dogwood at Sankey appearing stressed despite irrigation; members said they would monitor and that watering bags have helped overall. There was no formal vote; staff or volunteers will confirm final dates and staffing for planting and petunia removal.
