A councilor with experience in insurance underwriting noted insurers typically reflect ISO changes at the insured's renewal date and that some insurers do not use ISO ratings. Staff recommended public communication to residents to explain how the rating change could result in insurance savings when policies renew and when insurers use ISO metrics.
