The Board of Aldermen approved on first reading a five‑year contract with UKG for a payroll and human resources information system (HRIS) after a formal RFP and selection process.
Haley, who led the procurement, told the board the city solicited proposals from eight vendors, shortlisted three and selected UKG as the finalist. Haley said UKG provides a dedicated government team and that the contract was recommended as a budgeted, five‑year guaranteed‑rate agreement.
Alderman Glenn asked about implementation timing. Haley said staff hopes to begin implementation July 1 with a target live date of Jan. 1, 2026, and that the old and new systems would run simultaneously for roughly two months (about four payroll runs) to verify correctness. Haley emphasized the city will not go live unless staff is fully confident the system is functioning correctly.
The board approved the first reading by voice vote. The contract approval was described as within the adopted budget and intended to provide mobile‑friendly timekeeping, updated overtime calculations and internal efficiencies.
