Hunter White, principal planner, described the request as a recreational facility (item 9) and said staff and the Spring Valley Town Board recommended approval. White reported three public cards in support, two cards in protest and four letters in protest. During the briefing one commissioner said they would hold the item to give the applicant an opportunity to speak with neighbors about issues raised.
The briefing did not include a formal vote; the item was held for further discussion between the applicant and nearby residents and will return to the commission at a later date. The county’s formal hearing process will consider neighborhood concerns alongside staff recommendations.
