Clark County planning commission reviews routine permits, hears staff briefings on nonroutine waivers and a land-use amendment adoption

Madam Chair Kalarski opened the Clark County Planning Commission briefing and staff reviewed routine and nonroutine agenda items, including multiple use-permit and waiver requests and a recently adopted land-use map amendment for the Lone Mountain area.

The briefing matters were primarily updates: planning staff summarized nine routine items for consideration and four nonroutine requests for waivers or design review. The routine items included design review, use-permit extensions, tentative maps and waivers of development standards; staff recommended approval on most routine items but reported mixed public response in mailed postcards and letters.

A planning staff member said the briefing covered item DR-255309, a holdover design review and final grading plan for a hillside single‑family development (item 4). Staff reported revised plans had been received since the item was held on July 15 and staff continued to recommend approval. The Red Rocks Citizen Advisory Council recommended denial; staff recorded two postcards and two letters of support and eight letters of protest.
