GAUTIER, Mississippi — At the Aug. 5 council meeting, resident Taylor Sims thanked the city for responding to a road problem in his neighborhood and asked the council to help finish needed repairs.

Sims said he called the mayor after seeing work on a road near his home; he told the council staff assessed the problem and he asked the city to complete the follow‑up. The mayor and city manager acknowledged the request and said engineering and public works would assess remaining items and coordinate with the county as needed to resolve outstanding concerns.
