The Cape Girardeau City Council approved its consent agenda at the Aug. 18 meeting, authorizing several contracts and agreements listed as items C-3, C-4 and C-5.
City staff summarized the additions to the consent agenda: C-3 is a request to execute a license and indemnity agreement with Old Town Cape to place certain improvements in the Mississippi Riverwalk right-of-way south of Fountain Street around the floodgate area; C-4 is a request to execute a demolition contract with JAC 3 Excavating LLC for demolition of a building at 1202 South Dallas Street (rear); and C-5 is a request to execute an agreement with Dutch Enterprises LLC for HVAC replacement in the arena building.
The consent agenda was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records the council saying "aye" and the chair announcing the agenda carries. One item (Bill 2,588, the tax-levy ordinance) had been removed from the consent agenda earlier in the meeting and was considered separately.
The contracts and license approved on the consent agenda were presented as standard procurement and right-of-way items; the transcript does not record final contract amounts or start dates for the work. Staff indicated the demolition contract and HVAC contract are to proceed under the terms presented in council materials and that the riverwalk license governs placement of improvements in a city right-of-way subject to conditions in the license agreement.
Council provided no additional conditions on the record for these consent items during the Aug. 18 meeting.
