Forest Hills board approves $1.49 million in classroom technology and Central High office furniture

The Forest Hills Board of Education on July 10 approved two procurement items totaling not to exceed $1,491,805: interactive flat panels from Digital Age Technologies for up to $1,334,640 and office furniture for Central High School from Interface Interiors for up to $157,165.
The purchases will fund a districtwide rollout of BenQ interactive flat panels at elementary schools and the first batch of office furniture for Central High School’s ongoing renovation. The meeting chair said the furniture will “get them equipped” for the renovation. The superintendent noted the technology began with a trial at Pine Ridge Elementary and that the district will provide training in each building so the panels are used effectively.
District staff cautioned that not all panels may be installed before the start of the school year; overhead projectors will remain available so teachers are not left without display options during any installation delay. The superintendent said there will be building-level training so teachers can use the new panels once installed.
The board approved both procurements by roll call vote. The motion for the furniture purchase and the motion for the interactive panels each passed with all members voting yes as recorded in the meeting roll calls.
