Council confirms housing authority and planning commission appointments

Council moved to reappoint Rich Krone and to appoint Julie Ferrell to the Grand Junction Housing Authority Board for terms expiring Oct. 31, 2030. The motion was made by Council member Van Dyke, seconded and carried on a 6‑0 voice vote.
The council also appointed Ian Thomas, Keith Ehlers and Greg Palmer to full terms on the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals expiring Oct. 31, 2029, and appointed Ken Scissors to a partial term expiring Oct. 31, 2026 as the first alternate. The appointments were moved and seconded and passed on a 6‑0 voice vote.
The mayor opened the appointments portion of the agenda and asked for motions; council handled both items on the consent portion of the meeting and adopted them without individual debate. No recorded roll‑call votes were required; council indicated unanimous consent for both items.
