La Paz County emergency management says Oxbow bridge debris removal likely to finish Sept. 26

Jason Scott, director of emergency management for La Paz County, told the board the Oxbow bridge debris‑removal effort is operating under “Task 4” and is expected to wrap by Sept. 26. Scott said contractor Greymar is leading field crews, county public works has been building a crane pad, and most large debris on the county’s (east) side of the river has been cleared. Scott said low water levels have aided progress, crews have been meeting weekly, and the county has been coordinating with the contractor, company leadership and staff to limit safety and liability risks. He told the board he traveled to Phoenix for recent State Emergency Council meetings and secured funding to limit the county’s financial exposure.
