Public works seeks hearings to reconcile county speed‑limit code and to consider raising Bullfrog Road limit

KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. — Kittitas County public works staff asked commissioners on Tuesday to set public hearings to update county speed‑limit code and to consider a speed‑limit increase on part of Bullfrog Road.

Josh Fredrickson, Kittitas County Public Works, said an internal audit identified inconsistencies between Kittitas County Code chapter 10.08 (speed limits) and the county road log; he asked the board to set a public hearing on Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. to consider corrections. “We identified several inconsistencies with our road log, and we'd like to correct those, through a public hearing to make sure that our ordinance is correct with what our road log is indicating and vice versa,” he said.

Fredrickson also reported a speed study on a section of Bullfrog Road. He said staff “did identify that we should look at the speeds on this one and consider a change in speed for both a section of Bullfrog Road,” and requested a hearing on Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. to consider increasing the speed limit for that section.
