The Trenton City Council on July 7 approved two reappointments to the Recreation Commission and accepted a resignation from the Cultural Commission.
Council moved and supported reappointing Keith Knighting and Mark Gilsdorf to the Recreation Commission. A roll call was recorded: Benedetti—Yes; Caboaten—Yes; Hornbeck—Yes; Rodriguez—Yes; Rezeppa—Abstain; Bowen Crooks—Yes. The motion carried. (The transcript records those roll-call responses during the reappointment vote.)
The council also received and placed on file a resignation letter from Amanda Petrarca from the Cultural Commission and asked staff to send a letter of appreciation for her service. That motion was moved, supported and recorded as unanimously so ordered.
Why it matters: reappointments maintain quorum and continuity on the Recreation Commission; acceptance of a resignation initiates the vacancy process for the Cultural Commission.
Implementation notes: staff will send an appreciation letter to Petrarca and process the reappointments per city procedures.
