DDA Director Angelina Buscino described the project as the final piece of the lot rehabilitation and said the DDA chose a digital display after an arch design proved infeasible and overpriced. The proposed sign — a vendor quoted at $31,270.52 — would sit outside the public right of way near the intersection, display static images (no video or blinking lights), dim automatically by time of day and be turned off at night by timer. Buscino said the DDA selected a vendor called "Signs by Creamy" (transcription) based on design capability and cost.
Council members asked for more information and moved to refer the item to a study session before the June 16 meeting at 6 p.m.; the referral was seconded and approved unanimously. The referral will provide time for council members to submit questions in advance and review detailed specifications before any final procurement vote.
