Fire Chief Anderson presented the proposal, saying city EMS equipment — including cardiac monitors, power lift-and-load stretchers, stair chairs, AEDs and automatic CPR devices — is nearing end of service life (typically seven to nine years for such devices). Stryker offered a bundled seven‑year plan that includes equipment replacement and service coverage. The cash price presented to the council was $604,992.28; Chief Anderson said paying in cash would save the city $92,723.20 compared with Stryker’s financing option. He said the purchase would be funded in the FY2025–26 budget and the department would reimburse the fund balance over time using annual EMS equipment replacement allocations.
A council member moved approval; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
