A staff member presenting department snapshots reported that through June the county nursing home had an approximately $800,000 revenue shortfall versus projection; July results improved by about $375,000 and an MQIP payment came in about $85,000 ahead, helping to reduce the deficit.
During commissioner comments, Heather (nursing-home staff) said eight LNA (licensed nursing assistant) trainees attended and completed the most recent training cohort under the county's contract with the UNH system training partner; the trainees started work at the nursing home and will take licensing exams in the coming weeks. "We had 8 LNA trainees that attended the program this time... They all graduated, and they're testing," Heather said. She said the graduates are expected to remain at the facility either as full-time staff or in a registry capacity.
No formal action was taken; staff reported the improved July results as a positive trend that is "quickly chewing into" the earlier shortfall and noted the nursing home continues to monitor revenue and staffing metrics.
