Committee approves regional advisory group to inform Wildwood economic strategy

The Wildwood Economic Development Committee on July 22 approved creation of a flexible, informal Economic Development Advisory Group made up of regional practitioners to offer occasional advice to city staff and the committee.
Staff described the group as a non‑voting, rotating panel that will provide outside perspectives on trends in business recruitment, workforce development and community engagement. The named initial members include Taylor Masdra of the Missouri Department of Economic Development; Daniel Collard of BrandVersity; Emily Hemingway of TechSTL; Tara Mott of Esri; and Steven White and Gayla Sabin of St. Louis Community College (Wildwood campus).
The proposal emphasized the members’ regional expertise rather than local representation: staff said they do not expect most members to be Wildwood residents but that the group would be valuable for external benchmarking and technical advice. Committee members supported periodic presentations from the group and agreed staff could invite members to speak as topics emerge.
The committee voted to approve the advisory group as presented; staff said the arrangement would be flexible and could evolve as needs change.
