City staff told the Wildwood Board of Public Safety on Aug. 7 that the Manchester Taylor project is largely complete, Center Road bridge rehabilitation opened a week early, and Route 100 overlay work will continue through the fall with hoped completion around Dec. 1.
City of Wildwood staff provided a monthly update on Aug. 7 showing more than $30 million in active roadway construction contracts and a mix of near‑completion and continuing projects across the city.
Rick Brown, a city staff member who presented the update, said the Manchester Taylor project near town center has asphalt in place and striping nearly complete, and contractors were finishing final cleanup. Brown said the Center Road bridge rehabilitation was finished and opened to traffic about a week early after the deck was sealed and the structure repainted.
Brown told the board that work on Route 100 continues, with paving of driving lanes and asphalt overlay work in a two‑lane west section. He said that work will likely continue through the fall and that the contractor hopes to complete by Dec. 1. Brown also noted ongoing resurfacing needs on Route 109, saying a section north from Clayton Road is still awaiting resurfacing.
Brown described the year as very busy for local road projects and invited questions; no substantive follow‑up questions were raised by the board at the meeting.
The update was provided for information; no formal board action or vote was taken on the projects during the Aug. 7 meeting.
