Mayor issues proclamation honoring Eastside Business Association’s 60th anniversary

The proclamation, read during the meeting, commended the association’s work to preserve neighborhood character, advance economic opportunity, support nonprofits and students (including an annual $1,000 scholarship funded by an annual golf tournament), sponsor beautification and public art projects, and advocate to city and state leaders on infrastructure and investment.
Peter Greyfreath, identified in remarks as the association president, and several board members accepted the proclamation, thanked council for participating in their meetings and announced a public presentation on the association’s history to be held at First Mid Bank and Trust in the community room at 300 Ellis Boulevard on Friday at 7:45 a.m. Board members said the association supports ongoing beautification and community events on the East Side and invited residents to celebrate the milestone.
The presentation was ceremonial; no formal council action, funding or policy change was recorded in connection with the proclamation.
