Commission accepts Frasier Brothers replat and vacates 24-foot access easement on York Street

The Salina City Commission on Aug. 11 accepted the Planning Commission’s 8-0 recommendation and approved the Frasier Brothers addition replat, which vacates a 24-foot-wide access easement along the east edge of Lot 1 on the south side of York Street.
Planning staff explained the replat divides a parcel (originally part of the East Gardens addition platted in 1913) into four lots: Lot 1 (1018 York), Lot 2 (1012 York), Lot 3 (1002 York) and a vacant Lot 4 to the south with access off Francis Avenue. Staff reported existing utilities include 6-inch water lines in York and Francis and 8-inch sanitary sewer lines in both streets. Staff said no additional utility easements are required for this replat; the only requested action was the 24-foot access easement vacation.
The planning commission recommended approval July 15 by an 8-0 vote. Mayor Linkowitz moved to concur with the planning commission, accept the easement vacation, and authorize the mayor to sign the plat; the commission approved the motion 5-0.
