The City Commission approved the consent agenda at its Aug. 5 meeting, which included routine municipal items such as the sale of lots in the Business Park (F2) and administrative changes to existing funding allocations. City staff told commissioners that proceeds from recent lot sales would be deposited into a line previously labeled “industrial promotions” and that the city is considering consolidating certain special-revenue funds into the economic-development sales-tax accounts. “So this goes into, what was previously the industrial promotions, line item,” a city staff member said. Staff said the redirected funds would be used for additional improvements at the industrial park and other economic-development activities; commissioners were told the process mirrors how prior property-sale proceeds, including from an Amazon-related project, were handled. The Boys & Girls Club asked to use previously awarded funds for a different purpose; staff characterized that request as “very much an administrative action” and said the commission could refer the request to the Community Support Services Advisory Board if it preferred. The consent agenda passed in a roll call vote with four affirmative votes; Commissioner Minton announced a recusal on one consent item (item E-3) and did not participate in that vote.
