Sustainability board told ordinance 97‑44 parking review will be staff-led; review timing likely in 2026

Kathy Richardson, the city sustainability director, told the Environmental Sustainability Advisory Board that ordinance 97‑44 — an update to the land development code’s parking requirements — is staff work the commission has asked staff to pursue, and the staff will provide an updated draft for the board to review at a future meeting. "Item number 2, you'll see ordinance 97 44. That is a policy, work that is being brought to you by the staff," Richardson said. She warned that the updated draft and any joint meetings with other advisory boards may arrive on a schedule that reflects staff capacity; one staff liaison mentioned the Affordable Housing Advisory Board could be busy and a joint meeting might be scheduled in 2026. The board confirmed that Chloe had volunteered to draft a letter on the land development code parking mandate for review at the next meeting when the draft is ready. No vote or change to ordinance language occurred at the ESAB meeting; members were asked to wait for the staff-provided updated draft so they can provide feedback in a subsequent meeting.
