The Liquor Control Committee approved a transfer of a Class F alcoholic beverage license for La Fiesta Mexican and American Grill LLC, doing business as Casa Mexico Taqueria Express, 2511 Kirsten Lane South. The committee voted to approve the transfer after a staff background check found no issues with the new person being added to the license.
The approval came at the committee's regular meeting; the vote was taken after a motion and second and the chair announced the motion carried. Steve, city staff, told the committee that a Class F license allows full alcohol sales but does not allow a bar and requires food sales to exceed alcohol sales. He also said the business is considering a different doing-business-as name but that ownership would remain the same.
Committee members asked clarifying questions about whether the change represented an ownership or partnership shift; Steve said it did not. No objections or adverse findings were presented to the committee during the review, and members moved to approve the transfer.
The action was limited to the license transfer; the committee did not amend local rules or change licensing categories in this vote. Any future change of the restaurant's DBA was noted but not required for the license transfer to proceed.
