City engineering reports progress on street rehab, lift stations and new development infrastructure

Major items included concrete pavement rehabilitation on 40 Fifth Street (mainline concrete replaced and finishing work under way), the 30 Second Avenue South reconstruction (road closed between 17th and 20th with business access maintained), and substantial work on NP Avenue between Broadway and Roberts where most mainline concrete paving and curb and gutter are installed.
Nock highlighted work on the Industrial Business District addition (roadway pavement and storm lift station forming), excavation for the Southwest Metro Pond with box culvert installations under future 60 Fourth Avenue, and sanitary lift station reconstruction at Lift Station 27 on 30 Second Avenue South. He said no safety incidents had occurred since the last report and pointed stakeholders to fargostreets.com for closures and detour information.
Upcoming impacts: Nock said installation of similar box culverts on 40 Fifth Street will likely require a road closure between 60 Fourth and 70 Sixth in early August and that the Third Street North contract award will start soon. He also noted an ongoing seal coat and pavement marking program and miscellaneous spot repairs across the city.
