Contract and Supply Committee approves Pestmaster Services for city pest control at $4,539 bid

The Contract and Supply Committee approved awarding the city’s pest control contract to Pestmaster Services after staff reported the company was the lowest of three bidders at $4,539. Staff said there was no reason to disqualify the low bid and recommended hiring the incumbent provider. "We got 3 bids. Our apparent lowest bidder is Pestmaster Services. They are our current pest control services. They came in at $4,539," said Chris John, DPW commissioner. The committee’s motion to approve the contract was moved by Chris John and seconded by a staff member; a voice vote followed and the chair declared the motion approved. The board record included a bid tab sheet provided to members; staff said the tab reflected the three bids. No amendments, conditions or funding breakdowns were discussed at the meeting. The procurement will proceed under the city’s purchasing rules and staff said they provided the bid tab to the committee for review.
