The Randolph City Council on Sept. 2 approved a resolution granting a tentative parcel map to split an industrial property on Vista Way, an application filed as 2024‑01 by applicant Pete Taylor. Planning staff presented the application and said the split would create two parcels of about 15,966 square feet and 43,999 square feet; both parcels meet the lot area and dimension requirements for the site’s planned‑industrial zoning designation.
Planning staff member Tom Westford told the council the property currently contains three industrial buildings and that the applicant is dividing one parcel into two; Taylor was not present at the meeting but had discussed the proposal with staff. The planning commission reviewed the application at its July 27, 2025 meeting and voted 3‑0 to recommend approval to the council.
A public hearing was opened and closed at the meeting; there were no substantive public comments reported. Council Member John Gonzales moved to approve the resolution number 31‑2025 as written; the motion was seconded by Council Member Straub and passed on roll call with all council members voting yes.
The resolution approves the tentative parcel map and authorizes application processing as described in the staff report. No building permits or site changes were approved at the meeting; the action was limited to the tentative parcel map approval. Staff said future permits or land‑use approvals will follow applicable development review and permitting processes.
