City Manager Ken Hyatt said the council previously directed staff to proceed with a smaller neighborhood station at Bourne and Gibson that would allow the city to relocate the engine company while maintaining a truck company in the industrial area. Hyatt said the approach should allow the city to improve response times to the Spring Lake area without compromising industrial-area coverage.
