Manhattan Community Board 2 recommended approval with conditions and staff confirmed on‑site mockups showing the additions were not visible from the street. Commissioners approved the penthouse and pergola but asked the applicant to work with staff on the design of the raised rear parapet — specifically recommending a chamfered or set‑back detail or a lighter material to reduce a bulky appearance when seen from rear yards.
