The Board of Estimate and Contract on Aug. 19 approved a series of partial payments to contractors and four settlements of claims.
Under resolutions the board authorized partial payment No. 2 to Nolisa Designs General Contractors LLC for emergency armory roofing repairs in the amount of $125,400; staff said that payment is part of an ARPA‑funded grant for fiscal 2023. The board also approved partial payments to National Water Main Cleaning Company for sewer rehabilitation and cleaning/televising work, including a payment of $38,924.99 noted in the record and another payment listed as $1,098.
The board approved four settlements as a block: $441.36 for property damage to Diane Atkins; $1,939.14 for Natalie Patterson; $3,801.59 for Daryl Selsey; and a $30,000 settlement for personal injuries to Brianna Mecca. The board recorded aye votes and approved the items as a block.
A council member asked about a planning‑commission member involved in litigation; staff said the council could go into executive session to discuss but made no further public action on that point during the meeting.
