Council convenes closed session on pending litigation and city manager evaluation; no public action announced

The Orange City Council adjourned into executive session during its July 22 meeting to consult with legal counsel on pending litigation and to conduct the annual evaluation of the city manager; when the council returned to open session it announced no public action was taken on the litigation items. At 7:02 p.m. the council went into closed session for consultation with the city attorney regarding pending litigation involving notice of representation for Andrew Ashworth and additional pending litigation involving Dorsey Robinson Jr. and Tiffany Nicole Harris, as read into the record by the presiding official. The meeting notice also listed a personnel deliberation under Texas Government Code 551.071 (consultation with legal counsel) and a personnel matter for the annual evaluation of the city manager. When the council returned to open session, the mayor said there was no action to be taken regarding the litigation items. The mayor also said that regarding one personnel item (item 10 a 2), "Miss Leverett will make communication with Mike Kunst, city manager on a part of a decision that has been made, and that will be discussed at a later time in the public." Council then adjourned.
