Catalytic-converter grant: County staff reported an award under the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority for a fiscal-year 2026 catalytic-converter program. The presenter told the court the award amount is $341,000 with a local match requirement the sheriff's office expects to provide of $68,220. The court authorized staff to negotiate and execute the agreement.
Auto-theft task force grant: The court also approved entering negotiations to accept a continuation auto-theft task-force award of $242,679 with a reported local match of $48,537. Commissioner Reese, who presented the task-force item, said the grant will help maintain personnel and enforcement capacity previously funded by the program.
Both items were opened and approved for negotiation and execution by unanimous vote; court members thanked staff and the presenters for securing the awards.
