At its Aug. 25 meeting, the Maverick County Commissioners Court took several contract- and settlement-related actions, voting unanimously to authorize payment for a settlement, to authorize legal to finalize jail housing-agreement terms, and to ratify a parks-services contract.
The court authorized payment of a settlement with Macha Macha Services in an amount not to exceed $3,000, to be paid from fund 1003120684. The motion to authorize payment was made by Commissioner Brums and seconded by Commissioner Grace and approved unanimously.
On a separate docket item, the court said it had reached agreement in executive session on terms for a jail housing contract between the county and a partner entity; the court authorized legal staff to finalize the terms and to sign and transmit the finalized agreement. The court recorded a motion to authorize final terms and execution and voted unanimously.
The court also considered ratification of a contract with Eppie's Canoe and Kayak Team LLC for services rendered during the summer related to a Texas Parks and Wildlife grant. Commissioners voted to move forward with ratification and to pursue reimbursement to the county based on the grant terms and services provided.
What the votes do not do: The court’s approvals authorize payment, finalization and ratification as described; they do not on their face create new, additional program authority beyond the settled terms presented to the court, nor do they detail additional funding beyond the fund citation provided for the Macha Macha settlement.
