Erath County treasurer reports cash and investments; commissioners approve budget adjustments and invoices

County Treasurer Schaubert reported the county’s May 2025 cash and investment position and the commissioners approved a series of budget adjustments and the invoices presented at Monday’s meeting.
The treasurer said receipts for the month were $1,174,677.45; cash in bank totaled $12,539,180.48; and total cash invested was $45,313,903. The treasurer reported the county has no outstanding debt and that bank accounts were balanced and reconciled.
Following the treasurer’s report, the court approved budget adjustments that moved money out of contingency to cover items including overtime in law-enforcement and tax-office accounts and indigent-care requirements. Commissioner Stevens moved to approve the adjustments and Commissioner Buck seconded; the court approved the motion by voice vote.
The court then voted to approve invoices and recurring payments presented by the county auditor, totaling $600,879.99 across four packets: the commissioners’ packet ($381,878.94), SNBO ($30,841.64), Fuelman ($9,711.08) and recurring payables ($178,047.33). The court approved those disbursements by motion and voice vote.
