Tooele City Council ratified the city’s insurance coverage for the 2025–26 period at a total premium of $341,522.32, approving Resolution 2025‑70 on Aug. 6.
City Recorder Shiloh Baker presented the renewal with the Utah Local Governments Trust and provided the premium breakdown: liability coverage premium of $115,110.79, property coverage of $111,147.68, and auto coverage of $115,363.85, totaling $341,522.32. Baker noted that liability premiums decreased from the prior year while auto premiums increased because some auto exposure that had previously been counted under liability was moved into the auto line.
Baker said the policy renewed on July 1 and the council ratified the renewal at the meeting. Councilwoman Manzion moved to ratify the coverage and Councilman McCall seconded; the council voted aye: McCall, Hansen, Goaches, Manzion and Brady. The motion passed 5–0.
The ratification completes the city’s renewal paperwork and authorizes continued coverage for the coming policy year.
