The Helena West Helena City Council voted July 15 to approve an intergovernmental agreement allowing Lakeview to use the city—ourtroom for district court dockets and to reimburse a portion of the deputy clerk ssigned to the county docket.
The city attorney said the proposed agreement is substantially identical to a prior agreement with Elaine: Lakeview will reimburse the city for a share of the court clerk—ompensation on a reimbursement basis because Lakeview has a small docket.
Councilmember Kyle Miller moved to adopt the agreement and Councilmember Maxine Miller seconded. The motion passed on a roll call vote.
City attorneys said the arrangement is a small cost-saving measure that shares clerk costs while allowing neighboring court business to be heard in Helena-West Helena's courtroom.
