The Weatherford City Council held a public hearing Tuesday and adopted Ordinance 2025-536 to close, vacate and abandon a portion of an alley in Block 5 of the Mutual Realty Company subdivision commonly associated with 207 East Sixth Street.
Chad Marbach presented the item and told council the applicant requested the alley abandonment so the owner could combine two parcels into a single contiguous property and replat the site. "This shows kind of vicinity of the property highlighted in red between Seventh And Sixth Street there," Marbach said while describing the vicinity. He said similar alleys in the block to the north have been abandoned previously and that the city's Planning department (SAP) recommended approval.
The council opened the public hearing, received no public comments and closed the hearing. Councilmember Matt Tiscus moved for approval; Luke Williams seconded the motion. The council voted by touchscreen and the ordinance passed.
