Weatherford City Council on a unanimous vote adopted ordinance 02025‑32 to close and abandon portions of Dale Street, Oakland Street, Ridgeway Boulevard, Tulare Street, Newport Street and related alleys on a single, privately owned tract south of Ranger Drive.

City staff described the rights‑of‑way as unimproved and “leftover” pieces scattered across the property and recommended approval because the city does not see a need for those right‑of‑ways at this time. Mayor Pro Tem and councilors held a public hearing on the ordinance; no members of the public spoke during the hearing.

Council member Zach Smith moved to approve the ordinance; Matt Tiscus seconded the motion, and the council voted to adopt the closure and abandonment. Council and staff noted the action was intended to remove encumbrances that could impede potential future development of the parcel.

No additional conditions or related permits were attached to the ordinance during the meeting. The city will record the ordinance and process the formal legal descriptions required to complete the vacation and abandonment.
