Orange ' The City Council approved Aug. 12 an Economic Development Corporation (EDC) motion to provide up to $150,000 to repair a portion of Gloria Drive to support the Discount Tire project.
Mister Trahan, speaking for EDC staff, described the work as a repair primarily at the apron into Gloria Drive and said EDC staff coordinated with Adam Jack in public works. "This is an EDC incentive in support of Discount Tire, which is a retail project," Trahan said.
Nut graf: The EDC-approved funding is intended to make a targeted roadway repair to facilitate a private retail development; staff noted this action does not replace separate projects such as work on White Oak Drive.
Council members moved and seconded the motion and approved the funding; staff said the EDC formally approved the action at its meeting immediately prior to the council session.
Ending: EDC and public works staff will proceed with the repair planning and contracting; council approval enables the EDC to back the specific repair to support the Discount Tire development.
