Pecos City Council approved a resolution appointing Betty Herrera as alternate municipal court judge for a two-year term and administered the oath of office.
During the meeting Mayor led Herrera in the oath; Herrera repeated the oath to "faithfully execute the duties of the office of alternate municipal court judge for the town of Pecos City" and "preserve, protect and defend the constitution and laws of the United States and this state." The council recorded the resolution as approved by motion (motion by Councilman Graham, second by Councilman Saldania) and the record shows the motion carried by voice vote.
The council also swore in a newly appointed city secretary during the meeting; the official oath was administered by the mayor and the appointee affirmed the oath.
