The proposed changes, presented by Elizabeth Martinez, would allow curriculum-based fundraising for culinary arts programs, update sodium limits in school meals and revise beverage restrictions so that certain carbonated or zero-calorie caffeinated beverages are permitted at the high school level but remain prohibited at elementary and middle schools.
