Nevada Health Centers reports staffing changes, expanded weekend hours in Wendover and ongoing telehealth for Jackpot

Nevada Health Centers reported ongoing staffing transitions, telehealth coverage in Jackpot and new weekend hours in Wendover during an update to the Elko County Board of Health.
"For our staff providers, we currently have Dr. Lauren Spencer Davis," said Stephanie White, senior practice manager for Nevada Health Centers in Elko. White said the center has used locum providers and is negotiating to convert some temporary providers to permanent roles.
White told the board that Wendover’s clinic is now open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to serve an increased weekend population; the site has been seeing about five to 10 patients during those hours since the expanded schedule began in April. She also said Jackpot retains medical‑assistant staffing and telehealth capacity but does not currently have a provider on site; patients in Jackpot can be served by telehealth or by visiting other sites when a provider is present.
Behavioral health services in Elko include on‑site therapist Selena Holmes, LCSW, and telehealth options where needed, White said. The centers also provide dental services at some locations and operate a pharmacy in Jackpot, she said in response to board questions. Mammography services run in town four times a year, White added.
White said Nevada Health Centers is recruiting for multiple positions and is in talks with additional nurse practitioners who could join the Elko team in the coming months.
Board members asked about continuity of care for Jackpot residents and suggested incorporating details such as dental and pharmacy services into future reports.
"They are open their normal hours," White said of Jackpot’s clinic, adding that the site is staffed by medical assistants who can support telehealth when an on‑site provider is not available.
Selena Holmes, LCSW, introduced herself as the center’s on‑site behavioral health clinician and described providing services to children and adults in the area.
The board did not take formal action on the report.
