County officials said the state would no longer provide the county's share of equipment and asked counties to supply hardware such as computers, printers and scanners.
During discussion officials said no firm dollar amount had been provided. A county staff member named Shauna said the county's immediate need would likely be three computers; other participants noted the potential need for printers or scanners. Commissioners discussed related costs already borne by counties, including payment for birth and death certificate paper and the county's historical role providing space but not full salary funding for the county attorney or other court equipment.
One commissioner said the county could raise the concern with a regional group (named in the meeting as "Mako"). After discussion a motion to enter the MOU was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
