District reports 2,085 enrollment, back-to-school logistics and summer capital projects completed on time

District administrators told the Palos School District 118 board that current enrollment is 2,085 students and reviewed logistics and reminders for the start of the 2025–26 school year.

In an administrative report, district staff said summer capital improvement projects — including classroom renovations at Palos East and Palos West — came in on time and on budget. The district thanked operations staff for resurfacing floors, deep-cleaning carpets and painting classrooms in all three buildings.
Staff reminded families that class and bus assignments will be available through Skyward beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 13 and that bus route information and real-time updates are available through the myRIDE K12 app. The district said students entering kindergarten and sixth grade must have a completed physical form on file with the school nurse before the first day of school; “Students without a physical on file by Aug. 20 will not be allowed to attend class on the first day of school,” the administrative report said.
Other reminders included supply drop-off day on Friday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon (not an open house); encouragement to review attendance policy and parent-notification resources on the district website; and to download ParentSquare for district and school communications.
