After executive-session consultation with legal staff, the Eagle Pass City Council approved payment related to the fire and EMS interlocal agreement with Maverick County and set a timetable for the next-year agreement.
In open session, Councilwoman Ramon moved to approve payment in the amount of $1,265,956.68 with an additional $50,000 for the fire and EMS services interlocal agreement for year 6. The motion passed unanimously.
Staff noted that for year 7 the city will need a signed agreement no later than Sept. 30 to maintain continuity of services. The approval followed executive-session discussion under Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code for attorney consultation, as announced at the meeting.
