Manville Mayor Dan Davis proclaimed September 2025 as National Preparedness Month at the Aug. 19 council meeting, and Emergency Management Coordinator Jamie outlined community preparedness steps and urged households to make emergency plans.
Jamie described her own evacuation experience during a past flood to illustrate the consequences of being unprepared and urged residents to "make a plan, build a kit, and talk to your loved ones." She emphasized community responsibility to help neighbors who may need extra assistance during disasters and described city and state preparedness coordination including NIMS training.
Council members thanked the coordinator and encouraged citizens to participate in upcoming preparedness training and town halls.
