County schedules USDA public meeting on proposed radio communications grant for Sept. 16

Okanogan County staff announced a public meeting for Sept. 16 to inform the public and receive comments on a proposed USDA Rural Development grant application to improve county radio communications.
Facilities staff said the planned USDA funding request covers non‑construction communications improvements in the current grant phase. USDA guidance requires the county to publish notice at least 10 days ahead of the meeting and to provide citizens an opportunity to comment on the project scope and any environmental review items. County staff said they will prepare a short presentation describing locations, costs and the scope of the communications upgrade for the public meeting and will follow the USDA advertising timeline.
County staff set the meeting date and time on the record; staff will publish notices, prepare a brief presentation and collect public comments per USDA requirements before finalizing the application materials.
