A motion to create the position was moved and seconded on the record; the board voted to approve the resolution. County staff said they will follow up promptly to assign a fund source and to create the payroll coding needed to post and fill the position.
Commissioners noted the position aims to expand court outreach, assist jail diversion and related programs, and to pursue additional grant funding that might make the role sustainable beyond the initial county funding.
