Clallam County public works staff on Aug. 18 reported that the County Road Administration Board (CRAB) has authorized funding to fully fund the Edgewood Drive improvement project through design and right-of-way phases, bringing total project funding to about $2.4 million.
Scope and timing: staff said the project (Edgewood Drive between Reddick Road and Rife) is expected to include turn-lane improvements, widened shoulders and safer left-turn geometry at intersections, and that CRAB has approved design and right-of-way funding now while CRAB’s reimbursement for construction is likely to occur in CRAB’s 2029–30 funding cycle.
Property acquisition and schedule: staff noted a significant number of parcels require acquisition and that survey and right-of-way work will proceed over several years; county may phase acquisitions and seek additional funding if construction-cost estimates rise between now and the anticipated construction window.
Next steps: staff will proceed with design and right-of-way activities funded now, report property-acquisition needs as they develop, and return to the board with further updates and any requests for additional funding later in the project lifecycle.
